MMZ- The Last Cataclysm 2

"Nice"

date: January 18, 2006

Great spritework as always, and Zero's voice this time around was much better. Copy X was probably the best new voice, although most of the others sounded decent to good. Weil sounded too young and healthy for what looks like a human head in a jar atop a robot body (haven't played MMZ4 yet so I may be wrong about that) though, and Omega Zero's voice actually made me laugh out loud the first time he spoke. He got better as the movie went on, but still. Also, when this series is done it's going to rock, but a "TO BE CONTINUED!!! lol =D" right as the two big fight scenes are about to commence? Way to build suspense, but I want to see how it ends... that's obviously what you wanted though, and I don't really like such obvious audience manipulation. Still though, most of my complaints are of a subjective nature (except for "WHAT?! I HAVE TO WORK WITH *HIM*!!?!??!?~"), and this was a pretty nice movie all around.

On a seperate note, is anybody else dissappointed that Capcom made Omega's true form (Zero's original body) look like a palette swap of the Mega Man Zero-era Zero and not like the Mega Man X-era Zero? Although the plot allows either way to make sense, seeing an original Zero that actually looks like the original Zero would've been so much more shocking. Also, if it turns out that Dr. Weil isn't what's left of Dr. Wily I will be REALLY dissappointed.

The Gayest Showdown

"Not bad"

date: January 16, 2006

If you were going for the so-crappy-it's-hilarious sounds and visuals on purpose, then this is one of the best parodies I've seen in months. If, on the other hand, you were actually trying to make something good it didn't work. Either way though, it's pretty funny.

Family Guy is a great show, and this is one of the best scenes bar none. You did some pretty nice work synchronizing the sprites with the audio, too. Taking somebody else's audio may not be the most original thing to do, but at least you did it well.

Atari Space Invaders

"No"

date: November 16, 2005

There already roughly 500 bajillion Space Invader games on Newgrounds, and this one does nothing to distinguish itself from the crowd. You didn't even remember to make the enemies scroll downward, and this combined with the slow moving enemy bullets makes it nearly impossible to lose, making it even more boring than the original Space Invaders game.

Ha, you've still got it Misteroo. Shame about the lowish score; I guess people are still pissed about the Afrenhouse 3 prank or something.

This is a decent idea for a game, but it's annoying as hell that whenever you insult somebody a screen pops up where you have to click a button to continue playing. Constantly interrupting the gameplay like that for no reason makes it really hard to get into this thing and enjoy it.

thanks, you are right, i will take that into account for my future games

Gorillaz Groove Session

"Nice"

This is score your game gets? It deserves so much more than a 3.59. Between this, the Metal Freaks series, and the DDR clones, music games just don't seem to get much respect on Newgrounds... even though this game is easy once you figure out what to do (My scores in rounds 1-3 went from 51% to 69% to 78%), there are so many people complaining about how impossibly hard this and other music games are, and scoring quality pieces of work lowly because they don't have good timing.

Good graphics, good matching arrows to the beat, good music, good game.

Were the voices supposed to be that hard to understand? The graphics were okay as far as stick figures go, and the fight was pretty creative; the whole thing had a great 'wtf' factor that boosted it from "piece of shit stick movie" to "not bad stick movie". It's not going to win any awards, but I'm going to be pissed if this gets blammed.

Metal Freaks Xtreme 2+

"Freaking Awesome"

date: October 14, 2005

This series is one of the best I've ever played, and it's a crime that neither of these even placed in the Top 20 for games of the month when they came out.

The engine is as solid as always, although it took me a while to adjust to the fifth bar showing up on the other side of the screen now. The music selection was a bit uneven the good outweighs the bad, same as last time so no problems there.

The leap from 7-star songs to 8-star is insane, though- suddenly, songs on which I could effortlessly AAA become an epic struggle to pass with a B or low A. And I'm not sure that it's humanly possible to finish 9-star Declaration and 8th Commandment... I can appreciate the extra effort you put into making Xtreme 2 more accessible to new players with the beginner's difficulty level, but now that you have that covered pretty well if you make an Xtreme 3 you should consider not jumping from 500-550 notes, to 650-700, to freaking 900.

BTW, do you ever plan on finishing Expert Mode?

Arfenhouse Teh Movie 3

"Huh"

date: September 26, 2005

I remember when you first released it on April Fools Day at the defunct Disaster Labs website. It was funny that you would give your annoying fans such a hearty 'FUCK YOU' back then, and even though all you've done for this re-release is upgrade the preloader and replay button it's still funny now. The Breath of Fire song was nice to listen to, and I'm still amazed that you put in five minutes worth of random names from the phone book into the movie, and even more amazed that I actually watched the whole thing a couple times.

May you someday complete AHTM 4, and finally be free from this prison of stupidity. (Of course, with keeping the fans waiting two years and then releasing a joke movie specifically to piss them off I kinda doubt that AHTM 4 will be as popular as AHTM 2 was, but by now I'm guessing you're just grinding away and counting the days until you can finally do something else...)
